About

Pure Up, Buttercup is a healthy + positive lifestyle blog inspired by the desire to encourage ourselves and others to:

  1. Live more consciously and true to themselves.
  2. Realize the importance and euphoric benefits of respecting and nourishing the body, mind, and spirit with positivity; always.
  3. Channel our individual passions, no matter how unique or common they may be, and constantly grow.
  4. Appreciate all things untouched, naked and saturated with purity.

The name Pure Up, Buttercup came from a saying that Taylor’s mom would say whenever she needed a pick me up: cheer up, buttercup! There was something in the way that she said it that would immediately make everything better; instantly, without a fail. Because health and happiness fall into place when living simply and using natural products from the earth, the name only seemed perfect.

  1. You’ve got an awesome thing going here! The cinematography and photography are freaking gorgeous, and you easily win Best Tag-line for a Blog. On a bit of an unrelated note, was your senior exhibition in Gallery 100–as part of the ID•ea•tion show?

    • Awe, that’s really nice of you to say! Thank you so much for the kind words. And yes, I had the piece “Vibrational Being.” What did you think of the show?

      • Cool. Nice to know I’m not going crazy. 😄 I’ve been to a couple of Gallery 100 shows, and your group’s show was the most powerful I’ve seen. The pictures and snippets of life from former Yugoslavia hit hard, and paired well with the videos dealing with racial identity. It was nice to have your video there to not be as in-your-face emotionally. I was super keyed into the sound aspect, and you did a great job using the inherent noises (tracking footsteps, the sound of the stone slamming into the earth) to support the theme, and the subtle touch of one of the subjects in all black and the other with a white shirt was nice. How do you like the show? And did you get any choice as to who you’d be exhibiting with?

      • I’m glad you got saw the headphones. I saw so many people with their backs to them that I wondered how many people actually listened. But as for the show, I am happy with how it all came together. We did not have the choice as to who we exhibited with. It was my senior show and I was paired with the other Intermedia students in my class.
