When choosing a make-up line, there are a few things to look for. Esthetic style, color selection, ingredients + even ethics all come into play. As the beauty industry grows, so does our knowledge + understanding of the importance of product selection … not only for our skin, but our environment too! As an esthetician + make-up artist, I can never stress enough the importance of creating a make-up routine that is simply an extension of your skin care routine.

One brand in particular, Jane Iredale, is a believer of this rule as well. Jane, president + founder of Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, was inspired to create her cosmetics line after seeing first-hand the negative effects other make-up brands were having on her clients in the entertainment industry. Jane’s goal was to create make-up that looks good + feels good ~ all while being nourishing for the skin. Being the first to supply this industry with a line of make-up that had skin care benefits, Jane is the true definition of a trailblazer.

Not only are Jane Iredale products packed full of beneficial ingredients, the colors + textures are a dream (and the entire line is cruelty free)! One product in particular that I swoon over, is their PureGloss Lip Gloss. With 18 shades to choose from, there is a color for every occasion! The remarkably long-lasting formula is creamy, with a sheer tint of color, and it gives you that ultra-glossy finish (minus the stickiness). PureGloss smells so yummy, thanks to lemon + tangerine peel extracts. It also consists of lotus flower extract (to moisturize), moringa oil (skin conditioner), pomegranate oil (natural preservative) + green tea extract (potent antioxidant).

The newest additions to the PureGloss Collection are my current favorites; Martini, Pink Lady + Hot Cider … described below!

Hot Cider, a creamy golden peach shade, gives a great pop of color, is still soft enough to pair with any bolder eye look or even be worn on its own.

Pink Lady, a soft pink shade with subtle shimmer, really brings out the light in your eyes + glow of your highlighter (that highlight tho!).

Martini, a creamy beige shade, is the perfect nude to balance a smoky eye or to soften a mid-tone lipstick.

Another awesome feature of the PureGloss Lip Gloss is the applicator itself. The almost hourglass-like shape creates the perfect groove to help the applicator glide with perfect placement on the lip. The point of the applicator also helps to perfect edges, and even blend where the gloss meets your lip liner.

Another reason to love Jane Iredale (as if you needed one) is the love + support they show for our planet + all of the living creatures who dwell here. They are a completely vegan + cruelty free brand, recognized by PETA + The Leaping BunnyStandard.

Jane Iredale has also had an 8 year partnership with Living Beyond Breast Cancer, ‘a national education and support organization whose mission is to connect people with trusted breast cancer information and a community of support.‘ Each year, Jane Iredale creates limited-edition products, for which the profits are completely donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer. Currently, those products are Lemongrass Love Smell The Roses hydrating sprays: revitalizing + refreshing sprays that uplift your spirits while refreshing your skin.

Along with their fantastic PureGloss, Jane Iredale carries a multitude of must haves ~ for all skin types, tones + textures. Needless to say, it is the perfect make-up for the every day, hard-working woman. The woman who wants easy-to-apply, multi-functining products to make them look good + feel good in no time! Haven’t tried their products yet? Well … what are you waiting for?!
